Veterans Cemetery

Dedicated November 28, 2007, the Georgia Veterans Cemetery-Glennville is situated on the 42.6 acre site of the former Dyess Farm just north of the town center of Glennville in Tattnall County, Georgia. It is located along U.S. Highway 301, about 25 miles west of the main post of Fort Stewart.


The initial phase of the cemetery of approximately 26 acres contains a preplaced in-ground interment area, main entrance, roads, walkways and landscaping, an administration building/visitors center, enclosed committal shelter (chapel), columbarium where ashes will be interred, carillon and the maintenance complex. In addition the cemetery will provide a traditional in-ground interment area for individual veteran interments, an in-ground burial location for ashes, an ashes' spreading area and a section for memorial markers for veterans whose remains are not available for burial.


Another feature of the cemetery is the co-location of the Glennville Veterans Service Office in the Administration Building, just inside the main entrance.




Business hours are: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Internment hours are: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.


Cemetery grounds are open: 7 days a week, 8:00 a.m. to dusk.
